| Welcome to AVIR.org |
The Association of Vascular and Interventional Radiographers (AVIR) is made up of interventional technologists, interventional radiology nurses, cardiovascular technologists, radiology physician assistants (RPA), vendor representatives, and other associated professionals. As an AVIR member you can keep current of new licensing requirements. You can also keep up-to-date on procedures, JCAHO requirements, interventional products, and network with other interventional technologists. For more information and a membership application be sure to visit the membership page.
As of January 1, 2008 the ARRT will no longer accept category B ceus. All ceus will need to be category A. So what does this mean? As a radiology technologist if you attend an educational meeting only credits approved through an accepted RECEEM (ASRT, AHRA, CMART) will be accepted by the ARRT. This means no more CMEs. A full list of accepted RECEEMs can be found on the ARRT website.
2009 Annual Meeting March 7-12 in San Diego, CA
Now that the 2008 meeting has ended we are preparing for the 2009 meeting. Please email the AVIR office with suggestions of what topics you would like to hear. The 2009 AVIR Annual Meeting will be held March 7-12 in conjunction with the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego. At the 2008 meeting not only did we meeting offer category A ce credits for technologists, but we also offered nursing credits and some category A+ credits for RAs. This was very popular among the attendees and we hope to offer more A+ credits in 2009. RAs need A+ credits, as technologists A+ credits count the same as category A ce credits.
The 2009 Sponsor Brochure is now available if you would like to sponsor the 2009 annual meeting.
